mother of sandra blumberg | 7/14/2004 3:00:48 PM |
hi Carl I am Sandra's mom, and have heard so much about you. Sandra has also been through a lot of medical problems these past three years, and we know how difficult it is to try to combine medical issues with normal everyday teenage life. We've learned to be appreciative of every single day, and are encouraged and moved by people like you, who have their own battles to fight. Right now, we are cheering for another hero of ours, Lance Armstrong, who has fought an incredible battle with cancer, and has turned his life around to use his fame and cycli ng skills in order to raise money for cancer research. He has written two books, which are very inspiring to read.

"The most essential factor is persistence - the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come." -James Whitcomb Riley You depict exactly what this quote exemplifies. As an individual you define success; you define persistence. You have overcome an obstacle and continue to refuse to be defeated. The respect that I, along with many others, have for you is immense. There is not one day that goes by in which you are not in my prayers. I have extreme confidence that if anyone can beat this, that you can and I know you will. You should be very proud of yourself, because everyone in your corner is.

HEY CARL! I HAVE NOT POSTED A NOTE IN QUITE A WHILE...I HAVE NOT QUITE BEEN MYSELF. BUT IT IS NOW PAST TIME I GOT WITH THE PROGRAM AND CARRIED OUT SOME OF MY RESPONSIBILITIES. LIKE KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH YOU MY FRIEND.... I STILL HAVE NOT FULLY RECOVERED FROM MY MOM'S DEATH...THAT WAS AT THE END OF APRIL. I MISS HER A LOT. YET KEEPING MY 89 YEAR OLD DAD GOING IS MORE THAN ENOUGH...HE HAS NO MENTAL DEFICITS...SMART AS A WHIP! STILL DRIVING EVERY DAY UP TO MY BROTHER'S BAR AND RESTAURANT FOR LUNCH...THEN HE COMES TO OUR HOUSE FOR DINNER. WE ARE TRYING TO KEEP HIM BUSY AFTER 57 YEARS OF MARRIAGE TO MY MOM, HE IS SORT OF LONELY... HEY, YOU READY FOR VILLANOVA? GET READY SCHOOL...HERE COMES CARL! I KNOW YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL...AND HAVE FUN! THAT'S WHAT I DID IN COLLEGE... WELL, I WON'T WAIT SO LONG TO POST AGAIN. STAY STRONG...I AM PRAYING EVERY DAY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY...KEEP WORKING HARD AT THERAPY...I AM ALSO... WARMLY, CAROL
Aunt Renee | 8/2/2004 8:34:41 PM |
Carl, Hello to you, sweetheart. But this time I simply must post a note to Carol A. Carol, up till recently I assumed you personally knew someone in the Riccio family. I asked and was blown away by the fact that you are just a wonderful warm hearted woman who doesn't know Carl, and yet cares so much about him. I want you to know that I enjoy reading all of your messages, and pray for your physical recovery as well as your broken heart over the loss of your mother. You have been through so much in your own life in the past year, and yet always seem to make time to post some kind words of encouragement here. Someone once told me that there are "givers" and there are "takers" in this world. You are most definitely a "giver". We appreciate it.
