Carl, There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I couldn't be more proud of you if you were my own son. It was so great to see you last weekend at the beach house, you looked so good , I didn't even know you hadn't been feeling well. I know things will get easier, but in the mean time I admire you for your courage. So many times you are faced with challenges, I know you have fear, (you're human) but you never seem to allow fear to stop you from doing what you need to do, including going away to school. I am so glad to hear that Dr. Young is speaking at the dinner. The first time I met him, he talked about how frustrating it was that he could not pursue an avenue of very promising research due to government restrictions. It was about a month after your injury, and I remember the sick feeling I got when I heard this. I am so glad that we were able to help him overcome this obstacle and possibly bring us that cure faster. In a recent e-mail, he told me that there are "many exciting things" happening in his laboratory. Now those are words I like to hear. xoxoxo | |
