Dear Tricia, My name is Maria Nicasio. My boys are wretlers too from Rahway and have come across your husband and your boys through the wrestling circuit. In fact, I saw your husband and two younger sons this past weekend in the Union County tournament. I realize that this message is a bit delayed but we too have been involved in a tragedy almost 3 years ago. Our lives changed when two of our children, Anna (15 then) and Carlos (14 then) were involved in a car accident while we were vacationing in the Dom. Rep. Carlos, fortunately recovered well and was back to wrestling by the following winter. Anna, however, suffered a traumatic brain injury that has left her disabled. Like Carl, sports and music consumed her life. She played varsity soccer and track and was very musically talentend. She too is attending college as a freshman at Fairleigh Dickinson in Madison. She can no longer do what she used to do, she can barely walk safely on her own. But she continues to work hard and better her new self. I realize how it is for you and your husband but we live for our kids and God only knows how far we will go to make things better for them. Good luck and you can count my support for stem cell reasearch. Sincerely, Maria

Wrestlers are a different breed and I'm sure you will fight this and give 110% while doing it. I will continue to check the updates on your site. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Craig | 2/22/2005 3:24:07 PM |
Carl: Sounds like you guys had a great time at the Villanova game Sunday - I hope I can make the next one. I was dissapointed that cousin John didn't start trouble with the Pitt mascot. Rumor has it that you now think basketball is more exciting than wrestling. The two have a lot in common. Your dad learned how to wrestle while playing basketball....had dinner with your dad last weekend. It was nice to see him but he ate my dessert. Hope school is going well and that you are having fun in between classes & studying. Uncle Craig

God Bless--you are an amazing guy. Have fun at Villanova! (each semester will be more and more amazing)

Hi Carl, I went to visit your Aunt Renee yesterday. We've been friends since freshman year in high school. Now that we are both 37, that's a pretty long time. Anyway, I was thrilled to hear how well you are doing at Villanova. Not surprised though, you seem to have such a strong spirit. I will continue to keep you in my prayers, and hope to keep hearing good things! God bless you and your family.
