HEY CARL!

IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I LAST POSTED ON YOUR BOARD, I AM AFRAID YOU WON'T RECOGNIZE ME. A LOT HAS HAPPENED IN OUR LIVES OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. MY HUSBAND, KARL, LOST HIS DAD ON JANUARY 4...HE DIED IN HIS SLEEP...HE WAS ILL, BUT NOTHING TO WARN OF HIS DEMISE. MY FATHER-IN-LAW, ALSO, KARL, WAS A GREAT MAN; OWNING A MAJOR TRUCKING CO. IN YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO FOR OVER 40 YEARS. A COMPANY STARTED BY HIS FATHER IN 1939. HE WAS A VETERAN OF WW11 AND LOST BOTH LEGS ABOVE THE KNEE TO DIABETES. HIS KIND AND GENTLE MANNER WON HIM MANY ADMIRERS AND FRIENDS. WE FEEL A REAL HOLE IN OUR HEARTS SINCE HIS DEATH. .

COMING SO SOON FOLLOWING MY MOM'S PASSING HAS BEEN AN ADDED STRESSOR.

ALSO, MY HUSBAND SUFFERED A FEW BULGING DISKS IN HIS LUMBAR SPINE...CAUSING MUCH DISCOMFORT. YOU KNOW, HE IS MY MAIN CAREGIVER. AS A RESULT MY THERAPY WAS NOT THE MOST PRESSING ISSUE WE HAD TO CONTEND WITH FOR A FEW MONTHS...I STILL GO BUT HAVE MISSED SOME SESSIONS.

HOPE COLLEGE IS GOING WELL FOR YOU. I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU, CARL, I PRAY MY ROSARY FOR YOU EVERY DAY.

YOU ARE IN ALL MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

STAY STRONG...

STUDY HARD...

BLESS YOU IN ALL YOUR ENDEAVORS!

TELL YOUR FAMILY ''KEEP UP THE FIGHT!

WARMLY,

CAROL

Looks like Villanova drew the toughest bracket this year. North Carolina, UConn, Kansas, Florida... that will be a tough road. But they have proven they can beat anyone on any given day. I would be happy with them making it to the Sweet 16 and meeting North Carolina, anything less then that is a disappointment. With all the core players being juniors and returning next year, I think next year is the year we really will have a good chance to win it all. But these next few weeks should be fun. Hope you had a good spring break. Go Nova.

Happy Easter! I haven't seen you in a while, I miss you. The kids are excited about the Easter Bunny coming... it's so cute. Caroline is recieving First Holy Communion next week. I will send pictures. I hope you have a great weekend. We still pray for you EVERY DAY, we won't ever stop, because after our prayers are answered we have to keep thanking God.
Love You. xoxo
PS Dean can talk now. You're going to get a kick out of him. He goes around saying "I'm a cool guy".

Hey Carl,

Just wanted to say hello, and that I am thinking of ya. Shane is quite a piece of work, so is Tyler. I have enjoyed getting to know them this year immensely. Hope all is well, and I am sure that you are making quite an impression at Villanova, and most importantly, inspiring your fellow classmates every day. Never forget that you have a great personality that is contagious to everyone around you. Oh yeah, sorry about the loss to Carolina in the tourney, I hate Carolina. My brother is watching Happy Gilmore right now, what a great movie... Shooter!!

Dearest brother,
Faith is an inner feeling with one value for one individual & completly different for another.Having some 20 years behind me of hoping for a cure, for my daughter's "cystic fibrosis".I understand somewhat about a "mircle cure." We as parents must be optimistic. It is simply amazing how much love for life that these kids have. I keep my mind focused on my daughter, not on her illness. I think how lucky I am to have had her. Then my negative feelings fly out of my mind & maybe for that moment a smile & then a tear comes down my face.(All my love to you & your family!)

Dear Pete, Although this is a message board to talk to Carl, it's you who needs to be reminded to never give up hope. Carl is a vibrant, intelligent ,handsome, inspirational...I could go on forever with all the positives to describe Carl. I know that when Carl is back home for the summer your spirits will be lifted-I know how much you like to have him near you. But you and Tricia are giving Carl a wonderful gift by sending him away to college-the gift of independence. Carl is lucky to have such wonderful parents and such loving brothers and sister-stay opimistic,it's good for your health and for Carl's. Happy Birthday, from your OLDER SISTER. I love you.

Hey, Carl,

Just a quick note from someone who only met you once at a middle school wrestling practice last year. You are continuously in my thoughts and prayers. I was out there fighting for issues like stem cell research last fall in the election, always with you in the front of my mind.

Sending you good energy and hope and love.
