Mrs. Dragon's Health Class | 12/12/2006 6:14:12 PM |
Hi Carl, I'm an eighth grade student at Carl Sandburg Middle School. My gym (and health) teacher, Mrs. Dragon, told our whole class your story, and on behalf of them, I'd just like to let you know how much we admire you for what you're doing. She told us how you were one of the best kids she's ever known. She also told us that you were one of your school's strongest wrestlers- but there are different kinds of strength, and you've taught us that. Thank you. Stay strong.

Hi Carl! I work at the pharmacy. I knew little about your story until I found this website. It is amazing all the great things your family and other people are doing. Have a happy holiday and many blessings for you and your family.

Carl I would like to thank you and your family for working so hard to gain passage of the recent stem cell research legislation that Governor Corzine signed on 12/20/06. It was a wonderful evnt. I certainly understand your mothers passion and desire to promote all forms of stem cell research to acheive cures for so many injuries and diseases. My son has suffered the effects of a severe traumatic brain injury since he was 15 years old. He is now 37 and we continue his care at home. We too realize the potential and the hope of stem cell research as a cure for his brain injury. Our foundation, the Coalition for Brain Injury Research, will continue to support any state and federal initiatives to acheive that goal. Good luck and say hello to your mom for me. www.brainjurycure.org

Carl, I am so happy, excited and proud all at the same time. The signing of the new stem cell bill was one of the best Christmas presents we could ask for. You and your Mother have worked tirelessly to see that through, and your hard work has paid off. NJ is on the fast track to becoming the world leader in the quest for cures. It is no coincidence that this has all come about since your injury. I admire your courage, strength and determination. I can't wait to see you and everyone else at the big Christmas bash!!! xoxoxo

Carl, The passing of the stem cell bill is absolutely linked to your strength, determination and perserverance. It was front page news in 'The Record', and there were in fact two photos of you. The one of you and Corzine embracing was particularly beautiful and moving. We wish you a very Merry Xmas, and special holiday blessings for you and your family. May you only know from happy occasions in the coming New Year.

Carl - Kristin got into Villanova so I guess she will be a Wildcat with you next year. The Highlanders Wrestling team I coach officially joined the Grade School League this year and we are off to a 6-2 start with 4 kids top 2 in their weight class - check out NJGSWL.Com . Missed counties but saw Tyler is keeping up the tradition - also saw Shane is wrestling 174 at Bucknell - he must be the smallest 174 pounder in the nation - I remember wrestling up at 165 in college for a match against NC State and thinking that guy was the biggest person I ever saw . Be cool go Wildcats - see you around campus Tim

Hey Carl, It's Jess, Tyler and Roy's friend aka BR Wrestling Stat Girl. I just came across this site and it absolutely blew me away. Your story is an exceptional one of strength and inspiration to all, you are a prime example of a fighter. On top of everything, you're still awesome :-). Hope to see you at a wrestling match soon and if I don't see you beforehand, have a happy new year!

McCarey, Danny | 1/26/2007 4:06:54 PM |
Happy B-Day Carl. I heard everyone went out for dinner the other night...and some drinks afterwords at Kellys. Hopefully you handled the drinking better then I did on my 21st... The Cats look surpsingly good this year ... if they split this week's games with Notre Dame and Pitt, that would pretty much lock an NCAA bid I think. We would have beaten 4 ranked teams this year already, and 20+ wins, with all the games we have left, would be guarantee. Too bad about Bernie...I would have rather they played him at first then sign Doug Meinkiwicz. Bernie is a better hitter and more valuable. Maybe I'll see you at one of the games these next few weeks.
